ChargePoint, the world’s largest and most open electric vehicle (EV) charging network with over 18,000 charging spots, today announced its inclusion in international think-tank Sustainia’s annual guide for the world’s 100 leading sustainability innovations. ChargePoint has been selected for its state-of-the-art innovation in the EV industry using five evaluation criteria: readily available, positive environmental impact, financially viable, improvement on quality of life and scalability.

Illinois Community Colleges involved with the Illinois Green Economy Network (IGEN) will engage in an Electric Vehicle Road Trip, to demonstrate the progress of the Illinois Community Colleges strengthening EV infrastructure (the “IL Community College EV Highway”), to promote further deployment of EV infrastructure, and to raise awareness about EV technology and the environmental issues that necessitate a move to a more sustainable transportation infrastructure.

FujiElectric Corp. of America has announced a new project featuring their 25kWDC Quick Charger for Electric Vehicles at the Edison ParkFast’sfamous Hippodrome location, conveniently located in MidtownManhattan. The publicly available station provides a complete charge to electric vehicles in under an hour, making it ideal for the busy driver in the heart of the city’s bustling Times Square neighborhood. As the first quick charger in New York City on the ChargePoint® network, the project marks an important milestone for Midtown Manhattan and EVowners who have voiced the need for locally available charging infrastructure. ChargePoint is the largest and most open EV charging network in the nation with over 17,000 charging ports.

S.”Autobarn of Evanston announced it will sponsor nine ChargePoint EV charging stations for one year in conjunction with the Center for NeighborhoodTechnology. The stations are located in Chicago’s Rogers Park andBronzeville neighborhoods, Oak Park and Evanston.
The California EV Alliance announced that the California Energy Commission today awarded $474,052 for the deployment of EV charging infrastructure in the San Francisco Bay Area. A consortium of EV industry leaders developed the Bay Area Charge Ahead Project to deploy 37 charging stations -- and a total of 74 individual charge ports -- across 18 locations in 10 municipalities. The consortium led by the California EV Alliance includes ChargePoint, ABM, the Bay Area Climate Collaborative, and ten municipalities.
