Carbon Day Automotive today announced the unveiling of the first solar-powered electric vehicle charging station in the City of Chicago. Located and operational at the City of Chicago Department of Fleet Maintenance, it was one of the focal points of the recent IOC tour on April 5th, 2009 where guests were able to see the nation's foremost Solar Plug-In Station™ that was designed to pave the way to fuel plug-in electric vehicles. It will be used daily by the City of Chicago to fuel the city's electric vehicles with power from the sun. Carbon Day Automotive is the sole Midwest distributor for Coulomb Technologies ChargePoint™ Networked Charging Stations. When paired with Carbon Day's Solar Plug-In Station, it is a source of totally renewable and clean energy that addresses the needs of drivers, utilities and governments.

Coulomb Technologies, the leader in electric vehicle infrastructure today announced its expansion into Europe, the Middle East and Africa with the opening of Coulomb's European headquarters represented by 365 Energy Group, a venture of Estag Capital AG, in Berlin, Germany. Additionally, Coulomb named Scott Saffian as senior vice president of worldwide sales.

Coulomb Technologies, the leader in electric vehicle infrastructure, today announced that CEO Richard Lowenthal has been named ‘2009 Citizen of the Year' by the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce. The award is given to recognize excellence by Cupertino businesses and citizens whose contributions have made a significant and beneficial impact on the community. Richard Lowenthal is the founder of Coulomb Technologies and serves on several boards of directors including Chairman of the Board of the Silicon Valley YMCAs and the Cupertino Rotary. He is also the former Mayor of the City of Cupertino. Mr. Lowenthal was given the award on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Annual STAR Awards Gala hosted by the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce.

Coulomb Technologies, the leader in electric vehicle infrastructure, today announced the City of San Francisco has installed its Smartlet™ Networked Charging Stations at City Hall. The charging stations are a part of a two-year public demonstration conducted with the City of San Francisco - a pilot project to power San Francisco's plug-in fleet and car-share plug-in vehicles. Coulomb's charging infrastructure is providing the City of San Francisco special networked features that address electric vehicle fleet needs. Unveiling of the charging stations came today in a press conference with Mayor Gavin Newsom and Coulomb CEO Richard Lowenthal announcing the City's Green Vehicle Showcase outside City Hall, and is part of the Bay Area's regional EV initiative.

Coulomb Technologies today announced it has secured $3.75 million in Series A funding led by Estag Capital AG [Berlin, Germany]. Coulomb has developed the ChargePoint™ Network, the most advanced networked vehicle charging infrastructure for plug-in vehicles. The funding will enable Coulomb to continue their aggressive rollout of their smart networked charging stations as a part of the ChargePoint Network. Additionally, the funding will further enhance engineering, marketing and business development as major automobile manufacturers are set to deliver electric vehicles in the coming months.

Extending the future of sustainable transportation, Coulomb Technologies today announced they have expanded their reseller program to 28 US states. Resellers throughout the United States are tapped with building the infrastructure rollout for extended range electric vehicles (EREV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and all battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The wide range of infrastructure products are designed to support electric vehicles from automobile manufacturers including General Motors, Toyota, Ford, Mercedes, BMW and Nissan. Coulomb products include networked public chargers in a wide range of powers and sizes that serve both high-end utility and consumer needs. Coulomb will be showcasing their networked charging stations at the EDTA conference December 2 - 4, 2008 at the Washington, DC Convention Center booth 810.

Coulomb Technologies today announced it will provide the first smart charging infrastructure installation base for new and existing alternative fueling stations within California for extended range electric vehicles (EREV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and all battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Largely powered by solar electric panels, these new and existing alternative fueling stations are considered the wave of the future and will sell several types of alternative fuel including ethanol and bio diesel in addition to gasoline. These stations will now include Coulomb Smartlet™ Networked Charging Stations that address the need for fuel in electric vehicles. With dozens of charging station installations and activations scheduled within Q1 2009, the service stations will be located in key metropolitan areas and along the corridors of highways 99 and 101, and Interstate 5 in California with plans to install and activate hundreds more throughout California in 2009.
