BMW i Ventures today announced that it is making a strategic investment in Coulomb Technologies. Coulomb’s ChargePoint is the largest online global charging network, connecting electric vehicle drivers to charging stations in more than 14 countries. The investment by BMW supports the development of infrastructure for plug-in electric vehicles. ChargePoint provides the most feature-rich solution for station owners and EV drivers alike, with innovations in software services from mobile applications to vehicle telematics. ChargePoint’s charging solutions provide station owners the tools they need to help better manage their charging services, including the ability to locate and reserve stations, set pricing, process payments, track station utilization and energy costs and provide driver support.

ChargePoint today announced its latest mobile application for all iPhone and Android smart phones. Available for free, the updated ChargePoint app provides electric vehicle drivers direct access to their social network accounts including Facebook and Twitter. Drivers can easily upload check-ins, and comments to Facebook from the more than ten thousand charging spots in the United States. The mobile app continues to provide the ability to locate and check station availability and make reservations for a charging station, detailed station information including pricing and the ability to view your home charging station and its status. ChargePoint provides the industry's first and only mobile app that give drivers real-time charging station status, reservations, smart phone payments, location information and navigation.

Coulomb Technologies, Inc, the leading electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider today announced it has partnered with National Grid and others to extend Coulomb’s ChargePoint® Network throughout New York State with the installation of more than 160 charging ports.
Coulomb Technologies, Inc, the leading electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider, today announced that it has secured $47.5 million of financing. Braemar Energy Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the financing and were joined by Toyota Tsusho Corporation and existing investor Rho Ventures. Existing investors including Voyager Capital, Siemens Venture Capital GmbH, Harbor Pacific Capital Partners and Hartford Ventures also participated. The financing will enable Coulomb to expand its operations and further grow the ChargePoint® Network, the largest network of independently owned charging stations in the world, and expand the deployment of its next generation cloud-based charging solutions for electric vehicles. Additionally, Coulomb will expand its position in both existing and new markets. Scott DePasquale from Braemar and Michael Linse from Kleiner Perkins have joined Coulomb’s Board of Directors.
Fuji Electric Corporation of America announced today that it has collaborated with Coulomb Technologies to integrate Coulomb’s ChargePoint® Network into its DC Quick Charging Stations. The ChargePoint Network is the largest network of independently owned charging stations in the world and Fuji Electric’s 25kW chargers will be a valuable addition, providing a full charge to electric vehicles in approximately 60 minutes. The Fuji Electric charging stations are to be released in the US later this year, and will offer electric vehicle drivers and station owners alike the convenience of accessing all the advanced functionality of the ChargePoint Network. The ChargePoint Network-enabled Fuji station will be showcased at the EVS26 show in Los Angeles, May 6 – 8, 2012 in the Fuji Electric’s Booth #823 and in the Coulomb Technologies’ Booth #943.

The limited edition ChargePoint RFID cards were designed to commemorate Earth Day and promote EV driving worldwide. Coulomb Technologies today announced the completion of more than 2400 shipments of its public and commercial charging stations for electric vehicles through its ChargePoint® America program. Coulomb has seen exceptional demand in all 10 regions of the program and is finalizing the installation of charging stations within these regions. The ChargePoint America program is made possible by a $15M matching grant funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act through the Transportation Electrification Initiative administered by the Department of Energy.
CambridgeSide Galleria announces it will offer complimentary charging services for electric vehicle (EV) drivers inside their parking garage. The charging services are a part of Coulomb Technologies ChargePoint® Network, the largest network of independently owned charging stations in the world. CambridgeSide’s charging stations, located on Level A of the parking garage, are made possible via an innovative partnership between the mall and the City of Cambridge and was funded by a Department of Energy federal grant.
