ChargePoint, the world’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging network, today announced it has secured an initial $82 million in funding, part of a larger multi-million dollar fundraise, led by Daimler. The first close of the company’s latest fundraising round is the largest in the Silicon Valley company’s history. The investment will support the expansion of the company’s charging network into Europe, enabling the region to complete the shift to e-mobility.

A modular platform designed for businesses and charging centers along major roadways or transit depots, Express Plus can deliver up to 400 kilowatts (kW) to an EV, providing the power, speed and scalability necessary to make the future of mobility all-electric.

ChargePoint, the world’s largest and most open electric vehicle (EV) charging network, today announced it is building 70 new DC fast charge locations along popular highway routes across the state of California. California Energy Commission (CEC) grants provide primary project funding, augmented by ChargePoint and partners. All of the new stations will be part of the growing ChargePoint network of over 31,000 charging spots that are easy for EV drivers to find and use wherever they go.
