Help reduce stress on the electricity grid
Electric vehicle (EV) drivers can help lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and contribute to grid resilience by enrolling in their utility company’s demand response program.
Some utility companies run demand response programs to lower electricity usage when demand is high. In these programs, energy reduction is linked to specific connected devices, such as air conditioners, water heaters or EV chargers, which are easy to manage via grid-edge technology partners, such as AutoGrid. These companies are helping advance the transition to a decentralized, distributed and more transactive electric grid.
ChargePoint and AutoGrid are collaborating on the PG&E demand response program for utility customers who own a ChargePoint® home charger.
