NC VW Community and Destination ZEV Infrastructure Program
North Carolina incentive
North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) has $1.8 million for a new Community and Destination Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program. Maximum funding amounts are based on the capacity of the chargers and location. Public and private entities may apply, but projects on non-government-owned property require a cost share of at least 20%. Applicants are required to install a minimum of one (1) and up to four (4) DCFC ports and sites may also include up to eight (8) Level 2 charging ports. All chargers must be made available to the public. Projects in western North Carolina counties impacted by Hurricane Helene located in an area covered by a federal disaster declaration, projects who use Renewable Energy Certificates, and projects in historically under-resourced areas receive bonus points. This is a competitive program and applications are due January 31, 2025
