San Francisco, Calif. – ChargePoint – the largest and most open electric vehicle (EV) charging network – has partnered with the San Francisco Giants to give EV-driving baseball fans the opportunity to plug in while they enjoy the game. ChargePoint has four charging locations for Giants Fans at AT&T Park and in celebration of the charging spots at AT&T Park, ChargePoint has invited the EV community to catch a game with them at one of 4 “E-V-i-p” nights.
The first of the EVip events successfully kicked off Tuesday, July 1st, when the Giants faced the St. Louis Cardinals. Before the game, ChargePoint hosted EV driver customers at ChargePoint’s ReCharge Lounge, located next to the EV chargers in Lot A. Drivers and fans enjoyed pre-game festivities, complimentary food, drinks, giveaways and more. Select EVip drivers also enjoyed an EVip ballgame experience with premium tickets to the game.
“We are really excited to be part of the San Francisco Giants and cheer on our hometown team. With the recent opening of their edible garden, notable recycling practices, and being the first MLB team to install EV charging locations, the Giants’ family has set the standard for sustainable practices in the major leagues, and throughout all industries,” said Pasquale Romano, President and CEO of ChargePoint. “Along with these stations, we want to give our customers the opportunity to have a unique experience here at the park to celebrate EVs and Giants baseball.”
Other EVip night’s ChargePoint has planned at the park are Saturday, July 26th vs. LA Dodgers, Friday, August 29th vs. Milwaukee Brewers and Saturday, September 13th vs. LA Dodgers.
“The Giants are committed to implementing sustainable business practices and our partnership with ChargePoint allows us to realize this goal,” said Jason Pearl, managing vice president of sponsorship and new business development. “Many of our fans and players are dedicated to living an environmentally friendly life and the charging stations make it more convenient for them to do so while at AT&T Park.”
AT&T Park’s guests can begin using the ChargePoint stations by scanning their ChargePoint card or by easily registering for a free ChargePoint account at the charger, or online at http://www.chargepoint.com.
