ChargePoint Supports EPA’s New Emission Standards

Will require low-sulfur gas at the pumps cutting air pollution dramatically

Campbell, Calif. Pasquale Romano, CEO of ChargePoint – the company with the nation’s largest and most open electric vehicle charging network – released the following statement on yesterday’s announcement from the EPA to cut auto emissions.

“We applaud the EPA’s announcement and effort to cut auto emissions. ChargePoint drivers, via our 16,000 EV charging locations, have saved over 3.5 million gallons of gasoline and avoided 25 million pounds of CO2 emissions. The new EPA standards will save thousands of lives and prevent tens of thousands of respiratory ailments in our children. Electric vehicles are certainly a major part of the solution and that is why Americans are quickly converting to EVs. Not only do EVs make good environmental sense, they make good economic sense. We look forward to continuing to see the growth of this important industry under the new EPA standards.”
