ChargePoint Partners with BMW for San Francisco Electric Vehicle Car Sharing Service

New ChargePoint Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Throughout San Francisco, Burlingame and Oakland to Support a Unique Premium Car-Sharing Service

Campbell, Calif. September 25, 2012 – ChargePoint today announced it has partnered with BMW for its unique, premium electric vehicle (EV) car-sharing service program in San Francisco. ChargePoint®, the largest online global charging network, connects the new charging stations throughout San Francisco, Burlingame, Palo Alto and Oakland. BMW recently announced its DriveNow and ParkNow programs, which provide drivers the opportunity to experience BMW’s first all-electric vehicle, the BMW ActiveE with zero-emission driving. The San Francisco car-sharing and parking space programs are the first of several locations which BMW anticipates activating across North America in the coming months.

“Our decision to partner with ChargePoint was clear, they offer the highest quality and most established network of EV charging services on the market today,” said Ulrich Quay, Managing Director of BMW i Ventures.

“We are proud to partner with BMW and its electric vehicle car-sharing service,” said Pat Romano, president and CEO of ChargePoint. “ChargePoint is the largest network of electric vehicle charging stations in the world and drivers can easily locate a nearby station if they need to top-off during the course of their rental. We provide the easiest, most convenient way to charge, and convenient ways to pay for charging, 24x7 driver support and valuable driver services.”

Available ChargePoint stations are highlighted on the in-car information system and can be found online at www.chargepoint.com or by using one of the free ChargePoint mobile apps. While ChargePoint is the largest network of public charging stations in the U.S., DriveNow customers may recharge with any charging stations they wish. Additional charging fees may apply.
